Reginald (Reg) John Ogborn

As a 17 years old, Reg joined the army primarily to obtain a driving license. However, only
two weeks later, the outbreak of WW2 dramatically changed his path. He would go on to
spend six years in the army, including a pivotal role with the 79th Armoured Division as a
tank instructor.

His wartime journey culminated in his participation of the D-Day landings, undertaking the
very dangerous task of delivering fuel to the tanks that were so vital to the success of the
invasion.

He formed close bonds with many comrades, many of whom never made it home.
