Juno Beach, 2nd wave
Infantryman
Aged 17 when joined up, lying about his age to be able to serve his country. First Englishman accepted into Black Watch along with his cousin.
Attached to the Canadian regiment for the invasion.
Felt like total chaos, and running for their lives on the beach after landing, over the bodies of the fallen first wave, seeming like none could have survived. Promoted many times in action. Became reconnaissance specialist infiltrating enemy lines, fighting on and beyond the front line, liberating France, Belgium and Germany.
While in Germany he met a German girl and fell in love, marrying her and bringing her home to Bristol after the war to raise their family.
