Paul Turner – Chairman
Paul Turner is our current chairman who took over the position from his father Ken Turner, a Normandy Veteran, some 5 years ago. Paul sadly lost his father in November 2020.
Paul was previously the social secretary and has carried that role on, in addition to being Chairman of the group.
He has planned and delivered several trips and social events over the years but now concentrates on maintaining the longevity of the the group.
Paul was responsible for the design, fund raising and installation of our lectern in our garden of remembrance.
Following on from that he was inspired to produce our Pillar of Remembrance, that has over 70 plaques on it remembering the brave men of the Bristol area that fought and returned from Normandy. Paul is always very grateful to those who sponsor these projects.
Having completed the year long project to get the authority of Bristol City Council, Historic England, Avon Archaeology, source a manufacturer, have all of the plaques researched and installed, at the commemorative service Paul pledged to produce a brand new web site that took an enormous effort from all those that supported this venture.
Who knows what Paul’s next project will be?
